View your test results online

You can view your test results online using the NHS App.

The NHS App gives you a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services. Download the NHS App on your smartphone or tablet via the Google play or App store. You can also access the same services in a web browser by logging in through the NHS website.

Blood Tests

To help us manage your condition we may ask you to go for a blood or other test. This is generally for review purposes to try to maintain your health.

If we have asked you go for a blood test to manage your chronic illness, then the invitation we send you for will include details of the local phlebotomy clinics to go to have your test and how to collect the forms you'll need to take with you.

If you have not received this booking link, you can call 0151 285 4548 to book or book online below.

When to return your sample to the surgery

If one of our clinicians has asked you to provide a sample please return it to the surgery before 11:30pm so that it can be collected that day by the specialist courier. Most samples will not keep overnight and the test will have to be repeated.

The only exception to this is a FIT test, which can be dropped at the practice anytime.

Important: Advice to Patients

Please do not leave a sample at the surgery unless you have been asked to do so by one of our clinicians.

How to return your sample to the surgery

Containers can be obtained from reception. Please do not use any other kind of container to keep your sample.

Please ensure that all samples are labelled on the form and also sample container with your name, date of birth and date and time of the specimen.

When the surgery will contact you

Test results will come to the practice within a variable period of time depending on the type of test. We will only contact you about your test results if there is any follow up action.

If you want to check on a result or you have been advised to contact us for results then please do so by calling us on 0151 546 3956. Please consider calling after 12 noon. Not only are our phone lines quieter so your call will be answered more quickly, but our staff will have more time to discuss your query and answer your questions more thoroughly.

Some results may be visible online via the NHS App.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
